Seeking an experienced, produced writer to assist in rewriting the script and preparing it for consideration by production companies.
Please note - this is not the typical urban, faith-based musical. It appeals to a very broad audience and the intended goal is regional theater and eventual production on Broadway. I am seeking someone who has actually written and been a part of a completed, full scale stage production.
The script is in need of a detailed rewrite in order to get it to mainstream Broadway standards, enhance the overall work, and clarify the storyline. This is a paid position and the salary will be negotiable depending upon your experience and expertise. A few notes that may help you to understand the nature of the project and its current state:
- Full length two-act musical. Faith-based theme. Familiarity with gospel-based work would help.
- Music for the play is pre-existing. The music publisher has shown keen interest and music rights are secured.
- The music is internationally known and the associated group has won several awards.
- The current version of the script is over 200 pages.
- The script is in need of a trained and skilled eye to spot the problems and correct them.
- There are serious dialogue and character development issues that must be addressed.
- Time frame for completion is 6-9 months.
